Knave

Knave is a British softcore skin magazine which began in the 1970s and is still being published. Neil Gaiman worked regularly at Knave from 1984 until the late 1980s. He began as a celebrity interviewer, later becoming the regular book reviewer and collaborating with Kim Newman on several humorous articles. Three of Gaiman's earliest short stories originally appeared in Knave: We Can Get Them For You Wholesale, The Case Of 4 and 20 Blackbirds, and Manuscript Found In A Milkbottle. Gaiman was fondest of the magazine when is was under control of editor Ian Pemble, who was willing to let him interview whomever Gaiman wanted to since it was essentially filler for the mens magazine. Neil eventually left the magazine after an editorial change made Knave a more traditional men's magazine.
Note: There is a slim chance Neil helped in some issues after V.20 #3, but it is more likely that his friends continued using the same group pseudonyms, as I suspect they did with V.21 #1. A few Best Of collections may be missing from this list, but it should otherwise be complete.
