Read February in order

Had a hard time finding the right words to end it with. Or rather, had that last line for awhile, kept putting it in panel 3 or 5, waiting for a better last line, and none came.
BUT the project is now DONE! One month, 6 panels per day, a 28 page comic with a beginning, middle, and an end. Some quick thoughts: Use characters that have facial expressions. Simple is good, too simple can look bad. Get the hang of the body proportions beforehand (F's body kept bulking and thinning). Backgrounds help.
Overall... pleased with it. I tried to avoid being over wordy. I tried to keep the story moving forward while keeping it natural and true to the characters. Tried to have each strip have an emotional or comical element in the last panel - no strips simply for plot. By the end, tried to have both panel 3 and 6 be more pointed.
I do have more thoughts, but it's morning, I have errands looming before me... I urge the few readers of the artblog to email me comments/thoughts

He finally got her name. I have most of the rest of the month written out now, I just have to finalize the last day

I don't know what I did different between this one and yesterday's, but the black didn't come out half as even.

Even a simple background like that adds a lot. I've gotta get used to doing backgrounds... when appropriate

I had to have at least one Mopey pic this month. I figured he'd be jealous of February.
note: didn't notice I wrote 'bucky' instead of 'bucket' til I saw it posted! oops!

Looks a little sparse now that I've dropped out the background.

Terrible art. Terrible.

Depressing, eh? Don't worry, it gets better.

Terribly cliche'd punchline

Some off-model shots. I just couldn't get his body right today.

I really hate the art on this one. Need to work on that. Story is still moving forward though (kinda), so that's good.

Having fun with the words. Layout is nothing to brag about though.
Read February The Robot in order

A little text heavy. Must try to avoid doing that too much.

Unfortunately, it's slantier than most. Fell asleep at the TV again, woke up, and did this very quickly with eyes half shut (which is why I chose very simple images). I think it still pushes the story forward though

I like the idea of a transformer that just curls up into a ball.

I set a goal for myself. An experiment for the month. I've been trying to make comics throughout January. They've all been unscripted one-offs. February needed to take it one step further. The comics are still unscripted, but I'm trying to make a story that spans the month. We'll see what happens.
